Proof of delivery is a process used to establish items sent have been received by the intended recipient. This process typically involves capturing an acknowledgment of receipt at the point of delivery which includes some form of identification.

A picture is a relatively new method to prove proof of delivery or POD. It is provided when the shipper's fulfillment system supports the capture of a photo as documentation. This is becoming more common as the volume of online orders goes up and deliveries theft increases.
